The JCI Area Conference serves as a way for the different chapters within the area to:
- converge for information dissemination,
- prepare for the National Convention preparation,
- elect area and national leaders,
- build camaraderie,
- and to award exemplary projects with the most impact, and that best reflect the JCI Mission, Vision and Values.
The Area 5 award is known as the Agung Gawad Mindanao Awards, and is one of the most awaited events during the Area Conference. It was held on September 2, at the Megayon Provincial Government Complex.
There were over 800 bids in total from the entire area to vie for the awards. Out of this impressive number, JCI Duwaling was able to bag 8 Agung and 2 Merit Awards.
