It’s the start of a season when more people visit Davao. For hotel businesses, that means getting ready for more travelers and more competition. But being ready goes beyond your service, rooms, and amenities. Hotels also need to think about how they communicate with AI.
Research found that 24% of travelers consider AI assistants a trusted source for travel planning. That’s higher than travel bloggers at 19% and social media influencers at 14%.

Your hotel may be well known and have been around for years. But does AI see it that way? Read on to find out.
What’s Inside the AI Visibility Report?
In Volume 2 of my AI Visibility Report, I examined how three platforms recommend hotels in Davao for different types of travelers. This time, I turned my attention to family trips, couples, honeymoons, and specific hotel features.
To keep the comparison consistent, I asked ChatGPT, Google AI, and Gemini the same questions.
- Which hotels in Davao City are good for families?
- Which hotels in Davao City have large family rooms?
- Which hotels in Davao City are good for couples?
- Which hotels in Davao City are good for a honeymoon?
- Which hotels in Davao City are good for a relaxing stay?
- Which hotels in Davao City have a swimming pool?
- Which hotels in Davao City offer free breakfast?
- Which hotels in Davao City are pet-friendly?
This gives hotel businesses a chance to see where they stand when travelers ask AI for specific types of stays.
Did Changing the Question Shift AI’s Hotel List?
The recommendations changed noticeably when the question changed. AI did not always suggest the same hotels for different traveler needs.

Notable Findings:
- Family-friendly does not mean the same thing to AI
- A specific room request can change the recommendations
- Couples and honeymoon searches produced different hotel mixes
- Relaxing stays brought more subjective choices into the mix
- Specific amenities create specific visibility
- Pet-friendly searches showed a noticeably different set of hotels
- Platform agreement was stronger for some features than for others
These differences show that AI does not view every hotel through the same lens. See my full AI Visibility Study on Hotels in Davao for the complete results.
A Few Things Worth Watching

For hotel owners, these patterns point to a few areas worth paying attention to:
- Your audience matters. AI can associate the same hotel with different traveler types.
- Specific information matters. Room sizes, amenities, policies, and services give AI more context.
- Your reputation matters. Reviews and third-party mentions can influence how AI interprets experiences such as “relaxing” or “romantic.”
- Consistency matters. Conflicting information across websites can make it harder for AI to determine what a hotel actually offers.
- Visibility has different layers. Being recommended generally is different from being recommended for a specific need.
The bigger takeaway is that having an amenity or offering a certain experience is only part of the equation. AI also needs to find and understand that information online.
How Can Hotels Become the Answer to a Specific Traveler?

A hotel does not need to appeal to every type of traveler to appear in AI search. It needs to make its strengths, experiences, and target guests clear online.
We’ve asked AI enough questions. Now, it’s time for you to ask yourself a few.
Does Your Hotel Clearly Show Who It Is For?
Be specific about the travelers your hotel serves. Family rooms, romantic packages, business facilities, and relaxing experiences can help AI make those connections.
Are Your Best Features Easy to Find?
Make important details easy to access. Clearly describe room sizes, swimming pools, breakfast options, pet policies, and other amenities on your website and relevant listings.
Do Your Reviews Reinforce the Experience?
Reviews can provide context that a basic hotel description cannot. Guests may mention family-friendly service, romantic settings, comfortable rooms, or a relaxing atmosphere.
These descriptions can help reinforce what your hotel is known for.
Is Your Information Consistent Across the Web?
Check your website, hotel listings, booking platforms, and other online sources. Make sure they provide accurate information about your rooms, amenities, policies, and services.
Are Other Websites Talking About Your Hotel?
AI can look beyond your own website. Travel sites, local publications, blogs, and other trusted sources can add context about your hotel and what it offers.
