Vlogs Over Blogs: What Makes a Great Business Vlogger?

by | Oct 2, 2020 | General, Social Media

Have you ever thought about adding vlogs to your online campaign? Speaking as a Digital Marketing Expert in Davao City, you should! Or at least consider it. Because according to a research conducted by Multinational Technology Conglomerate Cisco, it is expected that videos will take up 82% of all Internet traffic by 2021. This will be a great way to not only market your products and gain leads, but also to increase the interaction between you and your customers.

Convinced now? Come and let’s take a look at what successful business vloggers are doing right.

It’s all about your Style and Originality

One common thing that made, not just business vloggers but all vloggers, stand out is by being their truest self. Faking it usually goes down the drain easily. Being yourself makes your content relatable for the viewers, while having your style would make it more memorable for them.

Also, it is harder to maintain a fake image of your brand. That’s why it is better to convey a standpoint you actually believe in.

Just like blogs, Content is Essential, but it Needs to be  Valuable Content

You just can’t post any video you have or just talk about whatever comes into your mind. Create clear and concise videos about topics people actually want to learn. Just like good blogs, a good vlog is something people should learn from and  be easy to digest.

Always ensure that your title corresponds to your content. NEVER USE CLICKBAIT TITLES. This will only harm your brand in the long run.

Building and Keeping in Touch With Your Community

Vlogging relies on its community more than you expect. Just like how you want a loyal customer for your business, you also want a loyal community for your vlog.

Interacting with your community will help improve relationships there. They will also feel a sense of belongingness that helps create a trust for your brand. You can also extract ideas from your community by conversing and getting feedback.

Lastly, The Thing that Drives to Create Content: Dedication

It’s not only in vlogging, but in everything that you do. You should give your full dedication. Starting a vlog can be disheartening but if you’re dedicated to working things out, looking at insights, and giving it your best to improve your content, things will get better.

The same thing also applies for the successful vloggers. Creating content every set schedule takes a lot of dedication. ANYONE lucky enough, can make viral content, but what’s important is the dedication to keep your success in the long run.

My Vlogs in Davao City

I’ve recently launched 2 vlogs, one focusing on business, and another general one with my son, Liam.

My business vlog covers several topics, like business, marketing, and also more specific digital strategies. The topics I cover answer questions that have been sent to me in the past like Why You’re Getting Likes, But No Sales. It’s basically everything I do in my career, delivered in easy to digest tidbits. Find one of my videos below:

Gen XYZ on the other hand, cover topics that involve teens like online gaming, how to sell to teens, and online learning. It’s a fun project, and a way for me and my son to bond over issues he wants to discuss.

As a Davao vlogger, I try to also incorporate examples that Filipinos and Davaoenos can relate with. Occasionally, I also cover events, but not a lot because of the Covid situation. If you’re interested on the topics covered, please feel free to subscribe to my channel.

If there’s any parting words I can leave you, it’s “Just do it!” Too much planning, too much delay will only lead to you, not being able to post anything. Don’t be afraid. Mistakes happen. Just do it!
